Operational Excellence Manager
We are hiring for the position of Continuous Improvement Manager in Bay Shore, NY

This role will involve working closely with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to drive waste reduction, improve production flow, increase capacity, and deliver measurable improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of shop-floor experience, analytical skills, and change leadership qualities to the role. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and address manufacturing waste, bottlenecks, and process variations through various methods including shop-floor observation, process mapping, value-stream mapping, and data analysis.
- Lead kaizen events and improvement projects from planning through implementation to achieve sustained results.
- Apply Lean methods such as A3/PDCA, 5S/6S, standard work, visual management, Kanban, setup reduction (SMED), and root-cause analysis to drive efficiency.
- Improve material, labor, and information flow across different functions to increase overall production throughput and address capacity constraints.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience with 3 years in leading Lean or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated results in waste reduction, throughput improvement, quality enhancement, or cost savings.
- Proficiency in Lean methodologies and experience in regulated environments like aerospace or defense.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to drive change across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent with experience in operational excellence.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing and AS9100 standards.
- Familiarity with CNC machining, low-volume/high-mix production, and capacity-constrained equipment.
- Experience with ERP and analytics platforms like Power BI or Epicor.
