Job Title: Flash Welding Operator
Location: Barkhamsted, CT
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Flash Welding Operator to carry out a specialized electric welding process in a manufacturing setting. This role involves closely following a specific process, prioritizing safety, and physically handling and positioning hardware, components, and parts. Training will be provided for the specific welding process. In addition to meeting welding department requirements, the operator will assist with other manufacturing tasks and may receive training to operate CNC or automatic machinery to accommodate production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete necessary training and execute the flash welding process in accordance with approved work instructions and operating procedures.
- Handle, move, load, align, and position hardware, components, and parts for welding using approved methods and equipment.
- Follow the welding sequence diligently, ensuring proper settings, setup, and part positioning before beginning the operation.
- Monitor the welding process and report equipment issues, deviations in the process, or potential quality problems promptly to the appropriate lead or quality team.
- Maintain accurate production and process records, as well as part identification and traceability as directed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, use necessary personal protective gear, and keep the work area organized.
- Collaborate with the process lead and quality team to ensure consistent results, troubleshoot issues, and strive for continuous improvement.
- Assist with other manufacturing tasks during downtime in the welding department; receive training and authorization to operate CNC or automatic machinery as needed.
