Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician:

We are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician who can work independently and has excellent customer interaction skills. The ideal candidate should be proficient in writing technical reports and providing product improvement recommendations to the Product Development Group. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both nationally and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestic and international travel)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (Preferred)
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must not be afraid of heights
  • Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) experience are highly preferred.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent communication with customers, vendors, and contractors
  • Schedule and coordinate the participation of relevant parties for equipment installation and start-up activities
  • Ensure timely response to customer inquiries
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both on-site and remotely
  • Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Assist in the pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines
  • Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions
  • Support project team in clearing punch list items and meeting project requirements
  • Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • Respond to on-site technical issues and provide support to customers
  • Coordinate site visits and travel arrangements
  • Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
