Sr. Controls Engineer – Production
Major and well-established international company is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join their team at a large manufacturing complex located in Lawrenceville, GA. This position offers excellent benefits and the potential for a 1-2% bonus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify and address problems, as well as create and implement improvements for existing products and manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive quality system for new and existing programs, including PFMEA, control plans, process flow, work instructions, and inspection documents.
- Conduct research, development, evaluation, installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment to meet requirements.
- Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
- Provide input on product design based on design for manufacture and design for assembly principles.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for product and manufacturing process cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiency.
- Lead or participate in Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.
- Create and maintain detailed layouts of building floor space, equipment, and tooling.
- Accurately and promptly perform routine activities per instructions and procedures.
- Train Production and Maintenance Associates to enhance technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills on the production shop floor.
- Complete any other assigned work from Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 5 years of engineering experience.
- Prior experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating blueprints and technical documents.
- Skilled in programming PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems, preferably using Keyence, Omron, and/or Mitsubishi.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with high-volume CNC Machining, automated assembly, and/or plastic injection molding processes.
- Experience with programming FANUC robots and CNC controls is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Able to demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in problem-solving and implementing countermeasures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to motivate team efforts to achieve goals.
- Quick learner, able to quickly grasp basic knowledge of the company, products, manufacturing processes, and rules.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Required to sit or stand and move about the facility. Occasional lifting of items not exceeding 50 lbs.
