Plating Operations Supervisor

Location: Carrollton, GA

General Summary:

An established company with a significant portion of the U.S. market in their manufacturing industry, located in southwest suburban Atlanta, has an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Supervisor - Plating or a Manufacturing Manager - Plating. This position plays a crucial role in the overall function and operation of the plating department on a daily basis, with a focus on safety, production, and quality. Production planning and scheduling are key responsibilities. The successful candidate will supervise a team of 12 people. This is a day shift position, working 10 hours per day from Monday to Thursday, with some additional hours on Fridays. The exact schedule may vary. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule daily activities, effectively utilizing personnel.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place for the plating chemical process.
  • Observe and implement corrective actions to optimize the plating process.
  • Supervise and coordinate workers engaged in electroplating, rack stripping, finishing, and inspecting the finished product.
  • Have knowledge of production plating procedures, processes, and control.
  • Oversee the implementation of corrective actions to improve the plating process.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement projects.
  • Aid in maintaining quality system requirements.
  • Ensure all plating personnel receive proper training, work instructions, and control plans to maintain process parameters and specifications.
  • Ensure preventive or predictive maintenance activities are carried out.
  • Ensure lab personnel are appropriately trained in the latest analytical techniques and procedures.

Education/Experience:

Preferred bachelor's degree in a chemical-related field, but will consider less. A minimum of 2 years of plating supervision experience in a manufacturing environment is required for the Manufacturing Supervisor role. A minimum of 2 years of managerial experience in plating within a manufacturing environment is required for the Manufacturing Manager role. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong mathematical skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with the aid of a calculator.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to reach with hands and arms and must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
