Sr. Controls Engineer – Production
Senior Production Controls Engineer - Atlanta, GA
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Controls Engineer to join our major and established international company. This position is located at a large manufacturing complex just east of the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. We offer competitive major company benefits and a bonus potential of 1-2%.
Essential Functions:
- Finds and resolves problems, and implements improvements for existing product and manufacturing process issues
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive quality system for new and existing programs
- Conducts research, development, evaluation, installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment
- Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products and provides input to product design
- Performs cost-benefit analysis for product and/or manufacturing process improvements
- Leads or participates in continuous improvement activities to enhance manufacturing processes and products
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of building floor space, equipment, and tooling
- Trains Production and Maintenance Associates to improve technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Performs other assigned work by Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of engineering experience
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is preferred
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating blueprints and technical documents
- Strong programming skills in PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems (preferably Keyence, Omron, and/or Mitsubishi)
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with high volume CNC Machining, automated assembly, and/or plastic injection molding processes
- Experience with programming FANUC robots and CNC controls is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in problem solving and implementing countermeasures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to motivate team efforts
- Quickly learns basic knowledge of the company, products, manufacturing processes, and rules
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
