Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Salary: $80-100K plus 10% bonus

Job Summary of the Senior Design Engineer: The Senior Design Engineer will work with a team of up to 10 Design Engineers to design mechanical products and systems that meet customer needs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:

• Plan and complete engineering projects by studying customer requirements, market demand, and competitors' products.
• Evaluate mechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs.
• Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods.
• Develop mechanical products by researching manufacturing methods and materials.
• Develop manufacturing processes and focus on cost reduction and process improvement.
• Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods and testing finished products.
• Prepare product reports and provide engineering information.
• Maintain product and company reputation by complying with regulations and updating databases.
• Stay updated on industry knowledge and contribute to team efforts.

Education & Experience Requirements of the Senior Design Engineer:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience as a senior-level Engineer.
• Experience in heavy haul trailer and heavy equipment engineering is a plus.
• Advanced computer skills in Excel and Design software systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal and external contacts.
• Analytical and technical skills with a functional understanding of cost accounting.
• Ability to innovate and embrace lean enterprise principles.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and systems.
