Job Title: Lead Engineering Architect

Location: Waterloo, IA

Salary: $75-100K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Lead Engineering Architect:

The Lead Engineering Architect will be a valuable member of the Engineering team, responsible for collaborating with a group of design engineers to develop mechanical products and systems that meet customer expectations.

Qualifications of Lead Engineering Architect:

• Plan and execute engineering projects based on customer requirements.
• Evaluate mechanical systems and products by conducting research and applying principles of mechanics, hydraulics, and materials.
• Create and implement testing methods to validate system and product capabilities.
• Design mechanical products according to customer specifications.
• Improve manufacturing processes and equipment to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
• Ensure system and product quality through the development of testing methods.
• Generate product reports by collecting and analyzing information.
• Provide engineering support and information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with government regulations and uphold company reputation.
• Maintain and manage system and product database.

Responsibilities of the Lead Engineering Architect:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience in heavy equipment, heavy haul or heavy trailer, tractor, farming or agriculture engineering design is a plus.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Proficiency in design of welding steel structures, steel design, and hydraulics design.
• Experience in perimeter design modeling.
• Proven track record of making significant contributions to design projects.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel and design software systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Analytical and technical skills necessary for understanding business practices and identifying automation opportunities.
• Understanding of cost accounting principles.
• Innovation mindset and familiarity with lean enterprise principles.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new tools and systems.
• Ability to identify and solve problems.
