Fabrication Engineer Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

An established company with a significant market share in manufacturing, located in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Fabrication Engineer to join their team. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and involve designing manufacturing processes, analyzing workflow efficiency, and achieving production goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software like SolidWorks
  • Implement productivity improvements on current production lines
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures and recommend changes in designs
  • Design production processes for new and existing products
  • Conduct FMEA’s on products involving designs, materials, or processes
  • Review product designs for manufacturability
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure productivity

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience needed. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office is essential. Automation experience, project management skills, and previous heavy manufacturing experience are preferred.
