Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of 12 engineers, programmers, and technicians, ensuring timely project completion and providing guidance in design decisions
- Set department goals aligned with overall engineering objectives
- Develop training programs and lead process improvement teams
- Evaluate product designs, recommending modifications to optimize cost, quality, safety, and production capabilities
- Provide technical support for design and manufacturing issues
- Analyze manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness, productivity, quality, safety, and feasibility
- Prioritize and implement cost-reduction projects in collaboration with the Director of Operations
- Respond promptly and effectively to safety, quality, and production concerns
- Manage the acquisition of manufacturing assets
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations on plant layout, construction, and expansion initiatives
- Facilitate coordination between production, design engineering, production and inventory control, and sales for efficient production
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting
- Experience in sheet metal manufacturing (cut, bend, machine, weld, paint, and assembly)
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles
