Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of 12 engineers, programmers, and technicians, ensuring timely project completion and providing guidance in design decisions
  • Set department goals aligned with overall engineering objectives
  • Develop training programs and lead process improvement teams
  • Evaluate product designs, recommending modifications to optimize cost, quality, safety, and production capabilities
  • Provide technical support for design and manufacturing issues
  • Analyze manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness, productivity, quality, safety, and feasibility
  • Prioritize and implement cost-reduction projects in collaboration with the Director of Operations
  • Respond promptly and effectively to safety, quality, and production concerns
  • Manage the acquisition of manufacturing assets
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations on plant layout, construction, and expansion initiatives
  • Facilitate coordination between production, design engineering, production and inventory control, and sales for efficient production

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting
  • Experience in sheet metal manufacturing (cut, bend, machine, weld, paint, and assembly)
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles
