Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will oversee a group of manufacturing engineers responsible for enhancing production processes, developing manufacturing techniques, supporting production activities, and spearheading continuous improvement projects. This individual will collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain departments to ensure efficient, cost-effective manufacturing while upholding superior quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of Manufacturing Engineers
- Develop and update Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Assess and enhance manufacturing methods, workflows, and production processes
- Estimate production times, labor needs, equipment requirements, and manufacturing expenses
- Create and maintain CAD models and manufacturing documentation using CATIA V5 or similar CAD software
- Generate engineering drawings and product structures that accurately reflect customer specifications
- Establish manufacturing tolerances and process documentation
- Offer engineering solutions and technical guidance to production and subcontractors
- Coordinate engineering priorities with Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen efforts focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
- Address manufacturing challenges through analytical problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Ensure adherence to company safety and quality standards
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred (Associate's Degree considered with relevant experience)
- Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Background in aerospace or precision manufacturing settings
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and production planning
- Outstanding communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Preferred
- Proficiency with CATIA V5
- Experience with Epicor ERP
- Track record of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen implementation
- Strong CAD and technical documentation skills
