Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead a team of 12 engineers, programmers, and technicians, overseeing department performance, project completion, and providing guidance on design decisions. Other responsibilities include:

  • Setting goals and objectives for the department to align with overall engineering objectives
  • Developing training programs and facilitating process improvement teams
  • Reviewing new designs, recommending modifications to optimize cost, quality, safety, and production capabilities
  • Providing technical engineering support for design and manufacturing issues
  • Evaluating manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness, productivity, quality, safety, and feasibility
  • Responding promptly and effectively to safety, quality, and production concerns
  • Overseeing the investigation, justification, and acquisition of manufacturing assets
  • Coordinating designs and manufacturing efforts with production, design engineering, production and inventory control, and sales

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing engineering professionals in a similar heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience with sheet metal manufacturing processes (cutting, bending, machining, welding, painting, and assembly)
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles

Salary: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00
