Job Description

Job Title: Production Engineer

Location: Grove City, OH

The Production Engineer will oversee the launch of new models and work on enhancing existing product lines. This role involves providing engineering assistance to the manufacturing team, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative assembly techniques to enhance product quality and reduce costs.

  • Support Engineering, Automation, Robotics, and Manufacturing Technology projects.
  • Train maintenance technicians on automated equipment, robotics systems, controls, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Monitor equipment performance, robot utilization, and automation effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop new assembly processes for products, incorporating automation and robotics where applicable.
  • Create specifications for equipment, robotic cells, fixtures, vision systems, and jigs for products.

Additionally, the Production Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in new model process development for complex products involving robotics and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Designing and building machines, robotic work cells, fixtures, and automation systems for new and existing models.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, identifying automation opportunities, improving manufacturability, and ensuring product quality.
  • Developing, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, robot, motion control, and automation programs.
  • Creating and maintaining engineering documentation, automation standards, robotics procedures, and PE-1 documentation for ISO compliance.
  • Evaluating emerging automation technologies to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
  • Leading root cause analysis, problem-solving activities, automation improvements, and machine efficiency initiatives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver smart manufacturing solutions.
  • Supporting preventive maintenance and lifecycle management for robotic, automation, and control systems.
  • Leading robotic automation projects from concept to production support.
  • Designing and implementing machine vision inspection systems and AI-driven manufacturing solutions.
  • Conducting safety risk assessments for automation projects and ensuring compliance.
  • Evaluating and justifying capital expenditures for automation and robotics projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 4–7 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of leading successful projects.
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities focusing on manufacturing and process enhancement.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards.
