Responsibilities

  • Lead projects focused on driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations (65% of time)
  • Coordinate, design, and develop manufacturing processes using tools such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and capability analysis
  • Work on capital projects and determine ROI
  • Support production and maintenance operations
  • Improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery in all departments
  • Apply ergonomics requirements to eliminate work hazards and improve safety
  • Mentor, train, develop, and evaluate team members as required
  • Help develop and implement metrics for production teams
  • Communicate project updates and progress to all levels of the company

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, with a focus on continuous improvement (preferably with custom products or in a job shop)
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo)
  • Proficient in using analytical tools such as DOE, FMEA, and SPC
  • Ability to work independently
  • Prior project management experience from start to finish is highly desirable
  • Prior experience with capital projects is a plus
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and value stream mapping preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of staff
