Responsibilities
- Lead projects focused on driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations (65% of time)
- Coordinate, design, and develop manufacturing processes using tools such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and capability analysis
- Work on capital projects and determine ROI
- Support production and maintenance operations
- Improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery in all departments
- Apply ergonomics requirements to eliminate work hazards and improve safety
- Mentor, train, develop, and evaluate team members as required
- Help develop and implement metrics for production teams
- Communicate project updates and progress to all levels of the company
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, with a focus on continuous improvement (preferably with custom products or in a job shop)
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo)
- Proficient in using analytical tools such as DOE, FMEA, and SPC
- Ability to work independently
- Prior project management experience from start to finish is highly desirable
- Prior experience with capital projects is a plus
- Experience with lean manufacturing and value stream mapping preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of staff
