Position Overview
The Director of Accounting & Finance is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and core financial processes. This role reports to the Group Finance Director based in Europe, while the U.S. headquarters are located in Louisville, KY. The company is currently in an expansion phase. The position is crucial in driving accurate and timely month-end close, managing cash flow forecasting, supporting strategic financial planning, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The Finance Manager also collaborates with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance, capital expenditures, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Oversee Blackline reconciliations and system uploads
- Produce monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysis
- Present financial results to leadership and participate in monthly review meetings
- Own the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis
- Support monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates
- Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and budget
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Oversee preparation and filing of returns and reports
- Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred
- MBA a plus
- 8–12+ years of experience in accounting/finance
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- ERP and financial systems experience with tools such as D365
- Advanced Excel skills, power BI a plus

Preferred Experience
- Experience with tax credits and incentives
- Project or capital accounting experience
- Multi-entity or international exposure
