Location: New Albany, IN

Reports To: Group Finance Director

Position Overview

The Finance Manager - Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and core financial processes. This role will report to the Group Finance Director based overseas in Europe. The company's U.S. headquarters in New Albany, IN is looking to expand and is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance team.

This role plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely month-end close, managing cash flow forecasting, supporting strategic financial planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Finance Manager will work closely with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance, capital expenditures, and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting:

  • Lead and manage the monthly close process for accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee Blackline reconciliations and system uploads
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysis
  • Present financial results to leadership and participate in monthly review meetings

Forecasting, Cash Flow & FP&A:

  • Own the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis
  • Support monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates
  • Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and budget
  • Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations

Compliance, Tax & Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee preparation and filing of returns and reports
  • Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors

Project & Capital Accounting:

  • Partner with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgets
  • Monitor project costs and timelines
  • Manage asset capitalization processes

Process Improvement & Systems:

  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Drive automation and efficiency in financial systems

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Provide oversight and guidance to accounting staff
  • Serve as a key finance partner to operations and leadership

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred, MBA a plus
  • 8–12+ years of experience in accounting/finance

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • ERP and financial systems experience with tools such as D365
  • Advanced Excel skills, power BI a plus

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with tax credits and incentives
  • Project or capital accounting experience
