Our client is in search of an experienced Director of New Business Development to spearhead growth within the Aerospace Engineering Services sector. We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented individual with a strong engineering background, deep industry connections, and a track record of establishing new accounts and expanding partnerships with Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
The ideal candidate will bring a consultative approach to sales and collaborate closely with engineering and delivery teams to provide innovative solutions to clients.
Location: Eastern United States | Remote / Work from Home
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for engineering services within the aerospace market.
- Leverage and expand an established network of Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to drive sustained revenue growth.
- Define and execute a strategic business development plan aligned with the organization’s aerospace engineering capabilities.
- Lead solution-oriented sales efforts, positioning engineering design, analysis, digital engineering, and testing services to address customer challenges.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, delivery, and leadership teams to ensure technical alignment and successful solution delivery.
- Own the end-to-end sales process, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and deal closure.
- Track industry trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to proactively identify emerging opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–10+ years of experience in business development or sales within engineering services, preferably in aerospace and/or defense.
- Demonstrated success selling engineering, design, or technology-driven services to Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Strong existing relationships within key aerospace accounts and a proven ability to open new doors.
- Solid technical and commercial understanding, with the ability to translate complex engineering solutions into clear business value.
- Excellent executive-level communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented leader who thrives in a remote environment and collaborates effectively across global teams.
- Willingness to travel within the Eastern U.S. and internationally as required.
