Manufacturing Engineer – fabrication
GENERAL SUMMARY:
An established company with a significant market share in manufacturing is seeking a Fabrication Engineer at a plant located in Douglasville, GA. The company has a positive working environment and has recently invested in new capital equipment. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and designing manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency by analyzing equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization. They will also determine necessary parts and tools to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
The company offers competitive benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k plan with a 100% match up to 5%. The typical work hours are 8-5, with the possibility of up to 45-50 hours per week.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software, such as SolidWorks
- Implement productivity improvements for current production lines
- Perform root cause analysis of failures and recommend design, tolerance, or processing method changes
- Design and implement production processes for new products and design changes
- Conduct FMEA's on new and existing products
- Review product designs for manufacturability and optimized processing
- Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure productivity
- Utilize design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and ROIA, among others
- Create work instructions, spare parts inventories, and implement automation systems
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office
- Experience in tooling, project management, and automation (robotics and PLCs)
- Good mechanical aptitude and authorization to work in the USA

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach with hands/arms, and lift up to 50 lbs.
