Uro-Hospitalist

Compensation: $750,000 per year

Job Type: Full-Time | 7-On / 7-Off Rotation | 24-Hour Availability During Active Blocks

Location: Mattoon, Illinois

We are excited to collaborate with a leading regional healthcare facility to seek a full-time Uro-Hospitalist who is Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE). This unique role has been established by the hospital administration to offer dedicated inpatient and acute care support.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage a new inpatient uro-hospitalist program to oversee acute urological admissions, inpatient consultations, and urgent surgical procedures.
• Follow a consistent 7-on/7-off block schedule to ensure comprehensive coverage for inpatient healthcare needs.
• Be available 24/7 during your active 7-day block to address immediate inpatient requirements and Emergency Department calls.
• Maintain a flexible presence, responding in person to the hospital for acute consults or surgical emergencies as needed.
• Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, hospitalists, and the outpatient urology clinic team to facilitate smooth care transitions.
• Keep detailed electronic medical records for inpatient rounds, consults, and operative notes in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
• Completion of an accredited Urology Residency program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Urology
• Active, unrestricted Illinois state medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Valid DEA registration
• Strong clinical skills in acute care urology and a proactive approach to launching new hospital services
