Industrial Engineer

Location: Decorah, Iowa

Salary: $75-90K

Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer will take the lead in identifying issues hindering product flow by applying lean principles to alleviate process bottlenecks and reduce work in progress (WIP). This role involves managing IE operators and technicians, providing guidance, and enhancing their skills and performance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implement lean activities such as 5S, standard work, visual management, value stream mapping, and more to eliminate waste and boost productivity.
• Drive professional development of facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers to nurture a culture of continuous improvement.
• Optimize manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and flow for efficiency.
• Track and lead continuous improvement efforts across all areas, including manufacturing and office spaces.
• Develop plans, oversee project performance, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects.
• Create equipment layouts, workflow plans, and safety measures to maximize plant and manufacturing facilities utilization.
• Manage equipment capital expenditures, from design to implementation.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager and Site Leadership Team to establish a continuous improvement roadmap for top-notch performance.
• Enhance capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering is a MUST!
• Minimum 5 years of Industrial Engineering experience.
• Strong skills in data collection, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.
• Experience in applying throughput improvement methodologies.
• Proficient in LEAN principles.
• Effective interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities.
