Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm (Monday – Friday)
An established, mission-driven healthcare organization in Connecticut is looking for an experienced Unit Manager to oversee clinical and operational standards for two downstairs long-term care / skilled nursing units.
Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing (DON), the Unit Manager will have 24/7 clinical and administrative responsibilities for the designated units. The primary work schedule is Monday through Friday (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM), leading unit nursing staff, ensuring clinical quality standards, managing resident care planning, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- 24/7 Unit Operational Command: Manage clinical and administrative tasks for two resident care units.
- Clinical Quality & Survey Readiness: Ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, and performance metrics.
- Interdisciplinary Care Planning: Oversee resident care plans, assessments, and prevention programs.
- Unit Staff Leadership & Supervision: Manage and mentor nursing staff.
- Physician & Family Relations: Communicate with physicians, residents, and families regarding care plans.
- Incident Management & Auditing: Analyze incidents, implement corrective actions, and document findings.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
- LTC Management Experience: Minimum 3+ years in clinical nursing with leadership experience.
- Clinical Depth: Expertise in LTC regulations, infection control, and care planning.
- EMR Proficiency: Advanced skills in Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills.
