Sr. Automation Engineer
General Purpose / Summary Description of Job
The Senior Automation Engineer is a leadership role responsible for implementing, overseeing, and improving automation systems in North American manufacturing facilities. This professional will lead the adoption of best practices, manage a team of engineers, oversee automation-related investments, and ensure effective control system data integration.
This position requires extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, expertise in technologies like DeltaV, strong project management skills, and the ability to drive innovation and efficiency through automation while upholding safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Execute corporate automation strategy in alignment with business goals and digital transformation initiatives.
- Maintain technical standards for control system design, programming, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for implementation feasibility.
- Facilitate technical forums for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Conduct benchmarking of automation systems against industry standards.
- Oversee design, configuration, and testing of process control solutions.
- Implement batch control systems and provide training to engineers.
- Specify instrumentation, control valves, and network hardware.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10+ years experience
- DeltaV experience required, batch experience preferred
