Salary: $95K -117K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Senior Utilities Project Engineer:

As a Senior Utilities Project Engineer, you will have a key role in optimizing and managing utility systems within our facilities. Your primary focus will be on industrial refrigeration, boiler, and compressed air systems, overseeing their design, development, operation, and optimization. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and enhancing existing systems, executing new projects, and providing guidance on regulatory matters. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact the success of our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance while delivering top-quality food products.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Senior Utilities Project Engineer:

  • Collaborate with facility teams and project engineering to develop Capital Infrastructure Plans.
  • Engage professional refrigeration engineering resources for project design and development.
  • Assist facilities and PSM Management Team with compliance-related issues.
  • Aid in the design process, including equipment selection, obtaining quotes, and scheduling work.
  • Develop and implement solutions for facility refrigeration system issues.
  • Introduce new systems and establish equipment standards.
  • Contribute to planning and budgeting utilities engineering improvement projects.
  • Optimize utility systems based on facility operating requirements.
  • Research and test new technology, providing valuable insights.
  • Assess complex operations and systems to support Operations management.
  • Identify and rectify deficiencies within existing systems through calculations and assessments.
  • Lead multiple efforts in various fields, ensuring adherence to best practices.

Education & Experience Requirements of the Senior Utilities Project Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, and optimization of Ammonia Refrigeration systems
  • RETA CIRO certification or equivalent from nationally recognized ammonia training program
  • Deep theoretical understanding of industrial refrigeration systems
  • Strong analytical, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel to different locations (50% of the time)
  • Electrical experience in low and high voltage circuits, motors, and controls is a plus
  • Preference for waste water operations experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong teamwork skills
