Senior Design Engineer
Job Title: Senior Design Engineer
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Salary: $80-100K plus 10% bonus
Job Summary of the Senior Design Engineer: The Senior Design Engineer will work with a team of up to 10 Design Engineers to create mechanical products and systems that meet customer needs and expectations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:
- Plan and complete engineering projects by studying customer requirements, market demand, and competitors' products;
- Evaluate mechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs;
- Develop manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency;
- Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods;
- Maintain product reports and company reputation;
- Provide engineering information to answer questions and requests;
- Contribute to team effort as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Senior Design Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required;
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior-level Engineer;
- Experience in heavy haul trailer and heavy equipment engineering a plus;
- Must have advanced computer skills and proficiency in Excel and Design software systems;
- Excellent communication skills and analytical abilities;
- Experience with cost accounting and lean enterprise principles.
Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00
