Quality Assurance Supervisor

Job Title: QA Supervisor

Location: Norfolk, Nebraska

Salary: $60-75K

Job Summary:

The QA Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the laboratory at the plant facility and ensuring that work is completed according to expectations. This role also involves ensuring compliance with GMP standards and conducting plant quality audits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and provide guidance to all QA personnel
  • Conduct daily GMP audits and inspections, summarizing and documenting findings monthly
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance in the laboratory
  • Manage analytical testing on raw materials, packaging, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications
  • Assist in establishing quality assurance specifications for raw materials and finished products
  • Coordinate the Certificate of Analysis (COA) and analytical testing of ingredients and finished products in a timely manner
  • Record all testing results promptly
  • Implement efficient test methods and integrate laboratory functions with production schedules to drive improvements
  • Assist with investigations and customer complaint reviews related to finished product problems
  • Collaborate with QA to release products according to specifications
  • Contribute to GMP and HACCP education for employees
  • Perform internal quality control audits and support customer audit inspections
  • Aid in bringing the Plant into compliance with SQF / BRC standards
  • Monitor and communicate trends and issues regarding all finished products
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in enhancing quality systems
  • Oversee all environmental sampling
  • Coordinate the laboratory supply budget and order supplies as needed to support operations with the QA Manager

Education & Experience:

  • 3 years of previous laboratory experience
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software applications
  • Experience in food or beverage manufacturing, with a dairy background being a plus
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Certifications in HACCP, LECO Training, SQF Practitioner, and Calibration Technician
