Psychiatrist

Compensation: $263,000 to $275,000 per year

Job Type: Full Time, Monday - Friday. 30-35 hours per week.

Our client, a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Nassau County, NY, is in search of a dedicated and skilled Psychiatrist to join their clinical team. This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to provide high-quality mental health care to a diverse community.

Operating on a predictable schedule during the daytime, this role allows you to make a significant clinical impact while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for school-age and adult populations
• Monitor and manage psychiatric medications and therapeutic interventions
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and laboratory tests
• Provide education to patients and their families on mental health treatment plans and wellness practices
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and adhere to regulatory standards
• Participate in peer reviews, education, and quality improvement initiatives
• Comply with all regulatory standards
• Split time between two facility locations in Nassau County
• Participate in on-call and emergency psychiatric coverage

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited school
• Active physician license and registration with New York State
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Psychiatry
• Passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Ability to travel between clinical sites in Nassau County
• Preferred active enrollment in Medicaid
