Salary: $140-172K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Plant Engineer: As the head of the maintenance and engineering division in a dynamic plant environment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of our facilities and equipment. By minimizing mechanical breakdowns and facilitating smooth production processes, you will be instrumental in maintaining high efficiency levels in our production lines. You will spearhead the development and implementation of advanced maintenance strategies, such as Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and more, in order to propel our plant towards greater success as a part of a High-Performing Manufacturing Organization. Leading engineering initiatives, you will oversee the continuous innovation of our food manufacturing processes through the execution of cutting-edge technology projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Plant Engineer:
- Take charge of capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations while meeting project deadlines, budget constraints, and safety standards.
- Drive the implementation of state-of-the-art maintenance systems to enhance plant performance. Key areas of focus include Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and other impactful strategies that maximize productivity while minimizing downtime.
- Supervise the maintenance team by assigning tasks, enforcing policies, and providing guidance to ensure efficient and safe completion of work.
- Offer prompt solutions to operational challenges through troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failure resolution, guaranteeing seamless daily plant operations with minimal recurring issues.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts by establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators that evaluate maintenance function efficacy across equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment efficiency.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Plant Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in team management/development or project leadership.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leadership, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
- Advanced technical aptitude in mechanical/electrical fields (e.g., PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.) and expertise in resource planning within a large manufacturing setting.
- Thorough understanding of maintenance systems, work order procedures, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.
- Proficiency in utilizing exposure monitoring equipment, interpreting results, and effectively communicating findings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for conveying ideas clearly and succinctly.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Superior interpersonal, technical, and presentation capabilities.
