Location: Milwaukee, WI

As a Metallurgical Engineer, your main focus will be utilizing your skills in metallurgy to work as a hands-on Castings Engineer. This position is open due to succession planning. You will be responsible for creating large castings using your expertise in metallurgy. The castings produced by this company are used in the aerospace, defense, and industrial equipment markets, among others. Responsibilities

  • Defining metallurgical requirements for casting projects
  • Troubleshooting problems with castings
  • Providing technical support to external and internal customers
  • Leading or assisting with continuous process improvements

Requirements

  • BS in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in casting metallurgy
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff as a team player
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to defense work
  • Experience with induction furnace melting, arc melting, AOD refining is helpful
  • Knowledge of alloys, especially using copper, is advantageous
  • Six-Sigma / Lean Manufacturing practices are also beneficial
