Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Newton, Iowa

Salary: $90-115K

Job Summary of the Human Resources Manager: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing staffing, turnover, quality, training and development, and safety to meet key performance indicators (KPIs). The manager will also be responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources functions of the plant, working closely with the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager:

  • Develop and implement various human resource plans for all facility personnel.
  • Plan, organize, and control all activities of the Human Resource department.
  • Provide leadership, direction, training, and guidance to associates.
  • Implement and update compensation programs, rewrite job descriptions, conduct salary surveys, and develop a merit system.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures.
  • Perform or oversee benefits administration.
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action program.
  • Conduct or assist in recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt personnel.
  • Establish and maintain department records/reports.
  • Maintain plant/facility organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Promote positive employee relations, guide, coach, and train plant leaders.
  • Delegate work and manage the productivity, accuracy, and efficiency of the Human Resource staff.
  • Participate, as needed, in special department projects as determined by the Plant Manager or other appropriate supervisory personnel.

Education & Experience of the Human Resources Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business preferred
  • 5+ years of progressively experience in Human Resources
  • Strong leadership or management background within Human Resources
  • Manufacturing environment experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team skills, including the ability to coach and develop work teams and provide or arrange for appropriate training of plant/facility personnel
  • The ability to motivate/empower others and resolve conflict
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
