Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for supervising all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and key financial processes. This position reports to the Group Finance Director based in Europe. The company's U.S. headquarters was recently established in Louisville, KY and they are currently in a phase of growth.

This role plays a crucial leadership role in ensuring accurate and timely month-end closure, managing cash flow predictions, supporting strategic financial planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The CFO will partner with various departments such as operations, engineering, and senior management to provide financial insights into project performance, capital expenditures, and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting:

  • Lead and supervise the monthly closure process to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Manage Blackline reconciliations and system uploads
  • Create monthly financial statements and reports with narrative analysis
  • Present financial results to senior management and partake in monthly review meetings

Forecasting, Cash Flow & FP&A:

  • Manage the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis
  • Support monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates
  • Analyze discrepancies between actuals, forecasts, and budgets
  • Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations

Compliance, Tax & Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory obligations
  • Supervise the preparation and filing of returns and reports
  • Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors

Project & Capital Accounting:

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgets
  • Monitor project costs and timelines
  • Supervise asset capitalization processes

Process Improvement & Systems:

  • Identify and implement process enhancements
  • Drive automation and efficiency in financial systems

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Provide guidance and oversight to the accounting team
  • Act as a key finance partner to operations and senior management

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • MBA is a plus
  • 8-12+ years of experience in accounting/finance

Technical Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with ERP and financial systems such as D365
  • Advanced Excel skills, power BI preferred

Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with tax credits and incentives
  • Project or capital accounting experience
  • Experience with multi-entity or international operations

Salary: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00
