Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician: We are seeking a self-directed Field Service Technician who excels at customer interaction, technical report writing, and providing product improvement recommendations. In this role, you will be responsible for independently assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestic and international)
  • Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
  • Highly preferred knowledge of PLCs
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
  • Clean driving record
  • No fear of heights
  • Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Highly preferred experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport with proper documentation for travel

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:

  • Frequent interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
  • Schedule and coordinate the participation of vested parties for equipment installation inspections, start-up, and commissioning activities
  • Coordinate internally to ensure timely response to customer inquiries
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment onsite and remotely
  • Repair equipment at customer facilities, handling both warranty and non-warranty claims
  • Perform routine inspections of existing system installations
  • Ensure proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in multiple disciplines and produce high-quality reports
  • Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and equipment function demonstration
  • Support project team in clearing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items
  • Participate in project and construction meetings as required
  • Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
  • Act as a trouble-shooter for on-site technical issues and provide on-site customer support
  • Independently coordinate site visits and travel arrangements
  • Provide direct technical support for testing and field service activities
