On-site Technical Support Technician

Job Location: Birmingham, AL

We are seeking an On-site Technical Support Technician to service medical laboratory equipment, such as hematology, chemistry, and coagulation analyzers, for a leading manufacturer in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate will have current or recent Field Service experience in the Medical Device industry.

As an On-site Technical Support Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated robotic lab instrumentation in the greater Birmingham, AL area. This position requires a strong background in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.

Job Details:

No Relocation: The candidate must currently reside within a 30-minute commute of the greater Birmingham area.

Position Types: We have two positions available - one with Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM schedule, and the other with Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM schedule. Both positions require overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

• A Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting is required.
• Ability to travel overnight is necessary.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a field service engineer.
• Experience with servicing medical lab analyzers or other medical instrumentation is a plus.
• COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, servicing, and preventive maintenance of medical lab instrumentation.
• Establishing and maintaining good customer relations.
• Coordinating problem resolution within the Field Support Group.
• Maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and other equipment in company vehicle.
• Providing basic on-site training on the operation of company instrumentation.

Benefits:

• Base salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
