Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Salary: $65-75K plus 10% bonus

Job Summary of the Design Engineer: The Design Engineer will work with a team of engineers to create mechanical products and systems that meet customer expectations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:

• Plan and complete engineering projects based on customer requirements
• Evaluate mechanical systems and products through research programs
• Develop mechanical products by testing manufacturing and assembly methods
• Improve manufacturing processes to reduce costs and enhance efficiency
• Assure quality of products through testing and analysis
• Prepare product reports and provide engineering information
• Maintain product and company reputation
• Maintain system and product database
• Continue professional development through education and networking
• Contribute to team effort as needed

Education & Experience Requirements of the Design Engineer:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• 1-5 years of experience in engineering
• Heavy haul trailer engineering experience preferred
• Heavy equipment engineering experience a plus
• Advanced computer skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Design software systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Analytical and technical skills
• Understanding of cost accounting
• Innovative mindset and lean enterprise principles
• Ability to learn new tools quickly
