Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Salary: $65-75K plus 10% bonus

Job Summary of the Design Engineer: The Design Engineer will work closely with a team of engineering professionals to create mechanical products and systems that meet customer requirements and expectations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:

• Plan and execute engineering projects by analyzing customer needs, market trends, and competitor products.
• Evaluate mechanical systems and products through research and testing.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance cost efficiency and product quality.
• Ensure product quality and compliance with regulations.
• Prepare reports and provide engineering information as needed.
• Maintain technical knowledge and contribute to team efforts.

Education & Experience Requirements of the Design Engineer:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1-5 years of entry-level experience preferred.
• Experience in heavy haul trailer or heavy equipment engineering a plus.
• Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Excel and design software.
• Excellent communication skills and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of cost accounting and lean enterprise principles.
• Ability to adapt and learn new tools and systems quickly.
