Cost Accountant

Location: South Windsor, CT

As a member of the Accounting Department, the Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in managing Product Costing, Work Order Closure Gains/Losses, and Metal Management programs for all company locations. Responsibilities include:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Participate in the annual cost roll and review material costs
• Prepare periodic job order variances reporting
• Reconcile copper ledger scrap reporting to physical scrap
• Assist with monthly metals reconciliation
• Calculate and report on cycle count accuracy
• Prepare quarterly Excess and Obsolete inventory reports
• Update item Master in M2M system
• Perform various inventory transactions in the M2M system
• Monitor tooling job orders
• Perform month-end close activities
• Provide support for an annual financial audit
• Participate in preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budget

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to navigate Job Costing/Inventory Control System
• Strong Excel skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• An affinity for numbers

Experience & Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting
• Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control
• 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer

Must be able to access and navigate all company facilities

Some domestic and international travel may be required
