Cost Accountant
Location: South Windsor, CT
As a member of the Accounting Department, the Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in managing Product Costing, Work Order Closure Gains/Losses, and Metal Management programs for all company locations. Responsibilities include:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Participate in the annual cost roll and review material costs
- Prepare periodic job order variances reporting
- Reconcile copper ledger scrap reporting to physical scrap
- Assist with monthly metals reconciliation
- Calculate and report on cycle count accuracy
- Prepare quarterly Excess and Obsolete inventory reports
- Update item Master in M2M system
- Perform various inventory transactions in the M2M system
- Monitor tooling job orders
- Perform month-end close activities
- Provide support for an annual financial audit
- Participate in preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budget
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to navigate Job Costing/Inventory Control System
- Strong Excel skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- An affinity for numbers
Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control
- 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
Must be able to access and navigate all company facilities
Some domestic and international travel may be required
