Quality Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing procedures to ensure the quality of products meets company standards. This role also involves handling PAPP and FAI submittals and leading a team of inspectors. The Quality Assurance Engineer will provide direction and guidance to the quality team.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice quality strategies and processes to enhance operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and implement relevant procedures
  • Update and revise in-house systems and procedures to meet external certification requirements
  • Address customer complaints, conduct analysis, implement error-proofing measures, and develop short-term and long-term solutions
  • Promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer quality issues
  • Update quality documentation and share lessons learned with new customer contracts
  • Establish and refine quality sign-off instructions, standards, and documentation
  • Produce written reports and deliver presentations
  • Train team members on quality systems and procedures
  • Motivate and coach the team to achieve operational success
  • Monitor task completion and ensure good performance
  • Promote high standards through personal example and team-wide adoption
  • Review, implement, and update company records (e.g., training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments)
  • Provide technical expertise to the team
  • Oversee the sign-off of parts and resolution of internal/external quality concerns
  • Perform root cause analysis and advise on problem resolution
  • Set department objectives, review performance, and assess direct reports
  • Manage and develop a high-performing Quality Operations team
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills

  • Ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-up abilities
  • Proficiency in problem solving, team building, planning, and decision making
  • Experience with CMM programming, preferably in Calypso
