Technical Systems Specialist

Location: Marlborough, MA

Our client is in need of an experienced Automation/Controls Technician/Installer for supporting Building Automation System (BAS) installations. The responsibilities include mounting control components, installing low voltage wiring, conducting terminations, performing system start-ups, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with building automation systems, possess a CT E2 or L6 License, and demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality installations and service.

Key Responsibilities:

BAS Installation:

  • Mount and install control components, including sensors, thermostats, and controllers for BAS installations.
  • Install conduit, low voltage wiring, and perform terminations as per project specifications.

System Start-Up and Checkout:

  • Conduct system start-ups to ensure proper functioning and calibration of all components.
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Diagnose and repair issues with BAS components, wiring, and controls.
  • Respond promptly to service calls for system troubleshooting and repairs.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and technicians for timely and accurate installations.
  • Communicate with clients and provide project progress updates.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure installations comply with local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Follow safety protocols during all installation, testing, and troubleshooting tasks.

Qualifications:

Licensing and Certification:

  • Must have a valid CT E2 or L6 License.
  • Additional certifications in building automation or electrical systems are advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in installing and maintaining BAS.
  • Essential experience with low voltage wiring, system start-up, and troubleshooting.

Skills:

  • Proficient in interpreting wiring diagrams and system specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and electrical systems.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills to resolve system malfunctions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
