Automation/Controls Technician/Installer
Our client is seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Technician/Installer in Rocky Hill, CT
Our client is looking for a skilled Automation/Controls Technician/Installer to assist with the installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS). This position will involve tasks such as mounting control components, laying low voltage wiring, completing terminations, starting up systems, and troubleshooting any issues. The ideal candidate should have practical experience working with building automation systems, hold a valid CT E2 or L6 License, and be able to carry out high-quality installations and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- BAS Installation:
- Mount and install control components, including sensors, thermostats, and controllers for BAS setups.
- Install conduit, low voltage wiring, and complete terminations according to project requirements.
- System Start-Up and Checkout:
- Perform system start-ups to confirm proper operation and calibration of all components.
- Conduct system tests and troubleshoot to detect and resolve any problems.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Identify and repair problems with BAS components, wiring, and controls.
- Respond promptly to service calls for system repairs and troubleshooting.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians for timely and accurate installations.
- Keep clients informed about project progress and updates.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure installations adhere to local codes and regulations, especially electrical codes.
- Follow safety procedures during installations, tests, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Licensing and Certification:
- Required: CT E2 or L6 License.
- Additional certifications in building automation or electrical systems are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience with installation and maintenance of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Essential experience in low voltage wiring, system start-up, and troubleshooting.
- Skills:
- Proficient in reading and understanding wiring diagrams and system specs.
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and electrical systems.
- Effective at troubleshooting and resolving system malfunctions.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
