Well established and brand name company located in the Indianapolis, Indiana area in a plant environment has opportunities for direct hire Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians on the night shift. They have a culture that is energized and impactful.

Shift:

Night shift- 6:15 PM- 6:45 AM

4 days on, 4 days off

Compensation:

Starting pay is $34/ hour plus shift differentials for nights - 2nd (at .25 an hour)and 3rd shift (at .30 an hour). Overtime pay of time and one-half for all hours worked over 8 hours in a day. There are major company benefits and relocation assistance is available. If someone were to work a 12 hour shift they would be paid $40.25 an hour and shift differential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Complies with Safety, PSM, environmental, SQF, GMP policies, procedures and regulations
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge, judgement, and maintains high standards for quality of work.
  • Operates, monitors, troubleshoots, tests, adjusts, and maintains the facility’s utilities systems.
  • Completes progressive Boiler and Ammonia Operator Training
  • Communicates effectively (written and verbal) in all aspects of daily work.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and processes, maintaining steady-state operations and continuity across multiple shifts.
  • Supports weekly work order schedules as arranged by Facilities Maintenance Planner.
  • Utilizes CMMS (SAP PM) to accurately document and track work order hours and execution.
  • Supports equipment maintenance and repairs with vendors and outside contractors in conjunction with Planner and Management
  • Actively participates or leads daily shift change DDS and shutdown meetings.
  • Supports Break-Down-Analysis (BDA) and 5S for assigned Facilities areas and supports and actively participates in continuous improvement activities through the company performance system.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or flex work hours as required including weekends and holidays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of stationary engineer, industrial maintenance, commercial HVAC, or military equivalent experience required
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude – demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical & mechanical equipment and systems
  • Must attend GCAP (or equivalent approved by Management) Boiler Tech 1 and successfully complete training within 6 months
  • Must attend GCAP (or equivalent approved by Management) Ammonia operator 1 and obtain certification within 6 months
  • Must attend GCAP (or equivalent approved by Management) Ammonia operator 2 and obtain certification within 12 months
  • Must be willing to work in a union environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

Highly mobile, lots of walking both on flat surfaces and up/down stairs with quick response to emergency situations at the facility.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to perform work on ladders, boom lifts/forklift/scissor lift.

Must be able to work in noisy environment with varied temperatures.

Must be able to pass respirator testing annually for PSM.
