Customer Relationship Manager Job Description

Job Title: Account Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA

The Account Manager will be responsible for being the main contact for key customer accounts in a manufacturing setting. They will establish and uphold long-lasting customer relationships, provide support for commercial activities, and work closely with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of customer programs.

The ideal candidate for this position is focused on building relationships, has a strong commercial mindset, is well-organized, and can effectively collaborate with both customers and internal teams. They take full responsibility for customer accounts, possess knowledge of manufacturing operations, and are capable of managing complex customer relationships in order to meet long-term business goals.

  • Manage and enhance existing customer relationships.
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams.
  • Coordinate RFQs, quotations, pricing activities, and customer inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address quality, delivery, and commercial issues.
  • Conduct account reviews, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in account management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with Automotive OEMs, Tier 1, or Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Familiarity with managing RFQs, preparing quotations, and handling proposals.
  • Commercial experience involving pricing, contract negotiations, profitability assessments, and customer discussions.
  • Ability to work across different departments including Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Manufacturing.
  • Experience in managing customer issues, quality concerns, engineering changes, and ongoing account support.
  • Strong skills in customer relationship management and communication.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and business reporting tools.
  • Experience in conducting business reviews, forecasting, and account planning.
  • Some travel may be required.
