We are in search of a hands-on Preventive Maintenance Technician to provide support in a precision CNC manufacturing setting. The main focus of this role will involve carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC machine tools and other related manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum machine uptime, reliability, accuracy, and equipment lifespan.

This position is perfect for an individual who recognizes that prevention is the key to good maintenance. You will collaborate closely with production and operations teams to identify possible equipment issues in advance, perform routine maintenance tasks, and aid in maintaining the efficiency and safety of a high-precision machining operation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC equipment including CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis machining centers, and related machinery.
  • Complete routine inspections and maintenance as per OEM recommendations and internal PM schedules.
  • Inspect, lubricate, clean, adjust, and replace machine components as needed.
  • Maintain and service lubrication, coolant, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Identify abnormal machine conditions and perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs during preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate complex repairs with internal resources, machine tool distributors, OEM service technicians, or outside vendors as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate preventive maintenance schedules, service records, equipment documentation, and maintenance logs.
  • Monitor recurring equipment issues and suggest corrective or preventative actions.
  • Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Assist with general manufacturing equipment and facility maintenance needs as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in preventive maintenance in a CNC machining, machine tool, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CNC equipment like mills, lathes, machining centers, or similar machine tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment wear or developing mechanical issues.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and maintenance-related equipment.
  • Experience with coolant systems, filtration equipment, chip conveyors, air compressors, mist collectors, chillers, or other machine-shop support equipment highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, preventive approach to equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to document completed work and maintain organized maintenance records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or industrial maintenance training preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements associated with industrial equipment maintenance.
