Capital Equipment Order-to-Revenue Manager

Location: Windsor, CT

We are in search of a seasoned Capital Equipment Order-to-Cash Manager to oversee the team tasked with managing capital equipment transactions from customer order placement to procurement, invoicing, and revenue recognition.

This role requires a blend of leadership skills, accounting expertise, proficiency in ERP operations, risk management capabilities, and a strong focus on customer service. The manager will supervise the usage of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, ensure accuracy in transactions and contracts, and collaborate with Sales, Accounting, Vendors, IT, and other internal departments.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of how sales orders, purchase orders, expenses, payment terms, invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and the General Ledger intersect—and be able to transform this knowledge into a streamlined, precise, and customer-centric operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, train, and develop the Capital Order-to-Revenue team.
  • Foster a customer-first approach for the complete capital equipment order lifecycle.
  • Supervise capital equipment transactions from customer order to procurement, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
  • Oversee order volume, complexity of transactions, deadlines, and team capacity.
  • Manage workloads and set priorities to meet customer and business obligations.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure accuracy, timeliness, productivity, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Accounting, Vendors, IT, and other departments to tackle transactional and operational challenges.
  • Supervise procurement activities, including vendor coordination, purchase-order approval, and adherence to contracts.
  • Apply accounting principles related to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, the General Ledger, invoicing, costs, and payment terms.
  • Ensure customer and vendor transactions comply with applicable contracts, financial controls, and company protocols.
  • Identify and address financial and operational risks linked to deadlines, expenses, payment terms, invoicing, and contract compliance.
  • Oversee the functional application of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations throughout the order-to-revenue process.
  • Act as a functional expert for D365 F&O concerning capital equipment orders and transactions.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and IT to troubleshoot system issues and support enhancements, testing, training, and user adoption.
  • Develop, document, and continuously refine operational processes, financial controls, protocols, and system workflows.
  • Take responsibility for escalated issues and coordinate prompt resolutions to mitigate customer and financial repercussions.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, contractual obligations, and ethical standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience in order-to-cash, order-to-revenue, order fulfillment, accounting operations, sales operations, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading, developing, and balancing the workload of an operational team.
  • Strong grasp of ERP-driven financial and transactional workflows.
  • Understanding of sales orders, purchase orders, invoicing, costs, payment terms, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and the General Ledger.
  • Experience managing order-to-cash or order-to-revenue activities within an ERP platform.
  • Preference for experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience interpreting customer, vendor, and contractual terms and assessing their financial and operational implications.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution aptitudes.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across Sales, Accounting, IT, leadership, vendors, and customers.
