Salary: $125K – 155K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Project Engineering Manager: Seeking a Strategic Project Engineering Manager with a deep passion for technology and innovation in industrial equipment automation, particularly in the meat processing industry. This role is instrumental in leading cutting-edge automation projects, collaborating closely with business partners and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet automation needs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Project Engineering Manager:
- Development of preliminary designs and specifications for engineering and materials, including project cost estimates
- Conducting research, feasibility studies, and economic analyses to ensure cost-effective and viable designs
- Validation of field work and creation of as-built drawings to document final outcomes
- Reviewing and checking engineering projects for accuracy and managing project execution
- Coordinate project schedules with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors
- Provide guidance to equipment vendors for layout planning, utility requirements, and installation schedules
- Reviewing work products submitted by consultants and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
- Conducting engineering planning, design, and operational reviews during pre-project studies
- Preparation of requests for proposals and evaluating proposals received
- Submitting detailed reports to management at established deadlines and managing contract administration
- Preparation of essential project documents for project execution and monitoring installations to ensure compliance with proposal specifications and budgets
- Continuously improving robotic and controls knowledge to drive innovative solutions
Education & Experience Requirements of the Project Engineering Manager:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university, with 5+ years of relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership position, including team development and management
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word processing software
- Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues, with knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling
- Experience managing multi-million dollar budgets and strong project management skills
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of national codes and standards interpretation
- Ability to travel to other locations up to 50% of the time
Desired Skills & Qualifications of the Project Engineering Manager:
- Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry
- Experience in managing multi-million dollar projects with large scopes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and collaborate effectively with others
