Building Automation Controls Software Engineer
Location: Rocky Hill, CT
Our client is looking for an experienced Building Automation Controls Software Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for working independently on DDC projects and providing support for various building automation systems, particularly HVAC systems. Your main focus will be on ensuring high-quality service while programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning these systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering new Direct Digital Control (DDC) projects
- Programming, monitoring, and installing building automation systems, including HVAC
- Updating and maintaining graphical interfaces for system monitoring and diagnostics
- Diagnosing and repairing HVAC and computer/controller system issues
- Performing system testing and commissioning
- Compiling and maintaining system documentation and records
- Collaborating with project teams and communicating effectively with customers

- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC and computer/controller issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of programming experience, 5 years preferred
Experience with building automation systems, including HVAC
Educational Requirements:
4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology is a plus
Certifications & Skills:
- Tridium AX certification highly preferred
- Experience with temperature control systems (Alerton, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Trane, Schneider, Siemens)
- Familiarity with BACnet, DDC, Niagara AX, ALC, Siemens, or Metasys
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Visio, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with AutoCAD and PDF software
