We are looking for a dynamic Chief Engineering Officer in Charlotte, NC

Are you a hands-on Engineering Director ready to lead our expanding engineering team? We need a collaborative leader who enjoys being actively involved in the lab, contributing to product design, development, and testing alongside their team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations and project execution
• Lead a talented team of five direct reports
• Work closely with the Chief Engineer in a parallel partnership

Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Development

• Direct line management and professional development for the engineering team
• Mentor and build a collaborative department
• Manage project scheduling and resource allocation

Quality Control Oversight

• Oversee day-to-day plant quality functions
• Manage customer returns process
• Monitor quality metrics and escalate systemic issues

Product Testing & Hands-On Lab Contribution

• Participate in hands-on product testing and R&D
• Lead test planning for various product lines
• Coordinate witness testing schedules with certification agencies

Project Management & NPD

• Drive New Product Development projects
• Coordinate cross-functional timelines
• Support the sourcing process alongside our Sourcing Engineer

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing
• Minimum 2 years of formal supervisory experience
• Hands-on product design and development experience
• Comfortable working in a lab setting
• Must work on-site in Charlotte, NC
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in thermal, combustion, or HVAC manufacturing
• Understanding of agency certification processes
• Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma
• Track record of building and scaling engineering teams
