Job Title: Director of Sales
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Salary: $160-200K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Director of Sales:
The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing and driving the growth of North American Sales. This role involves managing revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion in alignment with the global strategy. The Director leads sales strategy development, key account management, and coordination between Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to achieve corporate growth objectives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Director of Sales:
- Reports to the Senior Vice President and leads all North American sales activities.
- Collaborates with global counterparts to align strategies and approaches across markets.
- Develops and leads a team of sales and account management professionals.
- Motivates and manages personnel to achieve sales targets and market expansion goals.
- Identifies and executes growth opportunities across North America.
- Manages and expands relationships with key OEM customers and strategic accounts.
- Aligns product offerings with market needs and customer requirements.
- Monitors and manages profitability of products and accounts in the region.
- Gathers and analyzes market intelligence to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Maintains market presence through customer visits, industry events, and trade organizations.
- Drives performance, accountability, and fosters a culture aligned with company values.
- Ensures resources, processes, and systems support effective sales execution and improvement.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Director of Sales:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8–12+ years in business development, strategic sales, or global account management.
- Experience with multinational OEM customers in a manufacturing or engineered products environment.
- Proven success leading complex, cross-regional business opportunities.
- Experience managing nationwide accounts and setting expectations for a sales team.
