Salary: $80-100K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Warranty & Projects Quality Engineer: The Warranty & Project Quality Engineer has a dual role, including actively driving contract reviews, risk identification, and quality planning, as well as managing warranty claims and investigations from start to finish.
This position serves as a cross-functional leader collaborating with Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Field Service, and Quality to ensure that insights gained are utilized in new products, projects, and standard product lines, thereby reducing risk, cost, and impact on customers.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Warranty & Projects Quality Engineer:
- Monitor end-to-end warranty process including claim validation, investigation, root cause, and cost tracking
- Analyze warranty trends and identify recurring issues
- Facilitate containment and corrective actions, ensuring long-term effectiveness
- Lead contract and project risk assessments using warranty data
- Lead cross-functional initiatives for reducing warranty claims and enhancing product quality
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers and field service
- Develop dashboards for tracking warranty trends and project risks
- Potential travel requirement of up to 40%
- Maintain awareness of warranty trends and risks
- Integrate field data into strategic decisions
- Prevent recurrent failures
- Establish connections between warranty, design, and execution
- Promote accountability across various functions
Education & Experience Requirements of the Warranty & Projects Quality Engineer:
- 4-year degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with three to seven years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ASQ CQE or equivalent certification
- Proficient in mechanical systems, weldments, and fabrication
- Familiarity with failure analysis and root cause investigation
- Expertise in 8D, A3, CAPA, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, and Inspection Plans
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 with advanced Excel skills
