Yard Manager – Heavy Industrial / Pipe Manufacturing Operations

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas

A leading heavy manufacturing and logistics operation is looking for a Yard Manager to oversee the safe, disciplined, and efficient operation of a large industrial yard supporting pipe manufacturing, staging, inventory flow, and customer shipment readiness.

This role involves managing material flow, yard operations, manpower deployment, equipment utilization, inventory accuracy, and dispatch readiness within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead safe and efficient yard operations
• Manage daily yard flow
• Oversee safe handling of heavy materials
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards
• Coordinate closely with various teams
• Maintain disciplined inventory
• Lead and develop a team of supervisors
• Manage manpower allocation and execution priorities
• Support on-time customer shipments
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Utilize KPI reporting for operational performance
• Support hiring, training, and performance management

Qualifications

7–10+ years of experience in heavy industrial yard operations, logistics, material handling, steel/pipe operations, or manufacturing support environments

3–5+ years of supervisory leadership experience in industrial or manufacturing settings

Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operations, safe lifting practices, and industrial housekeeping

Experience with inventory management systems, SAP/WMS/ERP systems, and material tracking processes

Ability to support shift-based operations

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Steel, pipe, line pipe, plate, energy infrastructure experience
• Experience with new facility start-ups or large-scale logistics operations
• OSHA or related industrial safety certifications
• Experience with KPI dashboards and continuous improvement
