Welding Technician – ARC, MIG, and TIG welding

Location: Peachtree City, GA
A well-established company with a significant market share in their industry and a positive work environment is currently seeking a Welding Technician for their day shift. The Welding Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of welding equipment and site property, as well as performing safe and efficient weld repairs on equipment and facilities. The position is located in southwest suburban Atlanta, GA and offers an attractive hourly rate, along with overtime pay. Additionally, the company provides an attractive 401K plan with matching.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Level I
- Arc Welding: Perform arc welding in all positions using the appropriate rod for the material being welded.
- Mig Welding: Perform Mig welding in all positions using the proper wire and gases for the material being welded, including flux core and gas welding.
- Tig Welding: Perform Tig welding in all positions using the correct rod and gases for the material being welded.
- Oxy Fuel/Plasma/Saw cutting: Safely and effectively cut materials using appropriate cutting methods.
- Fabrication: Perform basic fabrication based on instructions and prints.
- Safe Work Practices: Adhere to safe work practices when working with equipment.
Level II (Includes Level I responsibilities)
- Arc Welding: Select appropriate rods without instruction to ensure optimal strength and performance of welds.
- Mig Welding: Choose proper wires, gases, and pressures without instruction to optimize strength and performance of welds.
- Tig Welding: Select appropriate rods, gases, and pressures without instruction to optimize strength and performance of welds.
- Oxy Fuel/Plasma cutting: Set up torches effectively with minimal instruction to minimize impact on workpieces.
- Fabrication: Perform fabrication with minimal instruction and based on provided prints.
- Safe Work Practices: Evaluate work environment to ensure safety for facilities and others in the area.
Level III (Includes Level I & II responsibilities)
- Arc Welding: Certified in arc welding in all positions.
- Mig Welding: Certified in Mig welding in all positions.
- Tig Welding: Certified in Tig welding in all positions.
- Oxy Fuel/Plasma cutting: Set up torches effectively without instruction to minimize impact on workpieces.
- Fabrication: Perform advanced fabrication without instruction, including some basic machining.
- Safe Work Practices: Evaluate work environment to ensure safety for facilities and others in the area.
Education/Experience:
- Level I - High school diploma or equivalent, with one to two years of related experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- Level II - High school diploma or equivalent, with two to four years of related experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- Level III - Technical training certificates or associate's degree, with six to eight years of related experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
The ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and perform basic mathematical functions is required. Additionally, problem-solving skills and the ability to collect and analyze data are necessary.
Physical Requirements:
The employee should possess the following physical abilities:
- Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls and communicate verbally
- Stand, walk, and reach with hands or arms
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift up to 80 lbs
Working Conditions:
The work environment may involve:
