Welding / Maint Technician – ARC and MIG – with certification

Certified ARC and MIG Welding/Maintenance Technician

Location: Peachtree City, GA

We are a major and established company with a dominant market share in our industry. Known for our strong working culture, we have an exciting opportunity on the day shift for a Welding/Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining welding equipment and site property, as well as performing weld repairs to equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient manner. The location of this position is in southwest suburban Atlanta, GA. We offer an attractive hourly rate and this day shift role operates from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Overtime is paid at time and a half, and you will also receive an additional $1.00 per hour for perfect attendance in a week. We provide weekly payment and an appealing 401K plan with matching.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing arc welding in all positions, selecting proper rod for the base material being welded, and applying principles of arc welding during the job.
  • Performing Mig welding in all positions, selecting proper wire and gases for the base material being welded and welding flux core and gas.
  • Performing Tig welding in all positions, selecting proper rod and gases for the base material being welded, and applying principles of Tig welding during the job.
  • Implementing the principles of cutting materials using oxy fuel/plasma and saw cutting techniques.
  • Performing basic fabrication based on instruction and supplied prints.
  • Exercising safe work practices around equipment.

Educatiopm/Experience:

  • Must have a state certified welding certification, issued by a certified welding inspector either on file or in possession.
  • Level I - High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level II - High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level III - Technical training certificates or associate’s degree, six to eight years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands/arms and has the ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
