Location: Charleston, SC
A leading North American manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced Systems/Network Administrator for our two manufacturing plants. This role requires an on-site presence at our manufacturing facility in Charleston, SC. As a member of our team, you will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager and be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure necessary to support our manufacturing operations. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer physical and virtual servers in the plant operations environment, including VMWare-based Windows servers.
- Manage Active Directory domains and perform backup and recovery tasks within the plant operations environment.
- Collaborate with the Information Security team to ensure the plant operations environment is secure from intrusion, disruption, or data loss.
- Administer Thin Manager and Thin Client Systems, as well as physical operator stations and standalone PCs.
- Work closely with the plant engineering and electrical teams to implement necessary changes in the environment, adhering to the engineering and IT change management process.
- Serve as a liaison with external vendors, as needed, to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure team to establish network specifications and provide resources for the Service Desk in resolving network and systems-related issues.
- Mentor and train IT teammates in systems administration and troubleshooting tasks, and cross-train on infrastructure technologies to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Achieve organizational goals and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the Operational Technology environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4-7 years of IT experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Working knowledge of plant operations communication systems (such as SCADA Systems, PLCs, and HMI devices) and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Capable of providing Service Desk level 2-3 support.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis.
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment with limited direction.
- Systems thinker with the ability to align job contribution with company objectives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a zero-incident safety culture, teammate engagement, and continuous improvement, while practicing the company's Target Behaviors.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus switches, Siemens Industrial network equipment, VSAN, VMWare 7, Veeam, and Fortigate firewalls is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, if necessary.
Salary: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00
