Requirements for the Ideal Candidate

Background / Education

  • Professional (ABET Accredited) Degree in Structural Engineering
  • PE registration in SC or ability to obtain quickly
  • NCEES registration or ability to secure
  • Ability to obtain additional state professional registrations as required
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a registered PE in structural design
  • Experience with various building materials and construction details
  • Design-Build experience or willingness to work in that environment
  • Industrial/Distribution/Logistics building type experience or interest
  • Construction experience desirable
  • Experience with renovation, upfit, and expansion projects beneficial

Knowledge and Skillset Requirements

  • Self-motivated individual with strong organizational and teamwork skills
  • Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills for program development and design decisions
  • Familiarity with current building codes and regulations (ICC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AISI, TMS, FM Global)
  • Ability to define and specify design loads, select materials, and develop project specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with computer-aided design software (RAM Structural Systems, ENERCALC, etc.)
  • Proven ability to independently produce medium and large project documentation
  • Willingness to assist with sales and marketing efforts, including proposal writing and attending business development functions
  • A hands-on approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget
