Senior Cost Analyst

Location: Danbury, CT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend pre-bid or team scope review meetings and comprehend the full scope of required work, even with limited information.
• Analyze and comprehend all project bid documents.
• Identify, notify, and share bid information with subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced work.
• Complete estimate takeoff using computerized on-screen estimation within specified deadlines.
• Collaborate with other estimators, company divisions, and departments.
• Compile and finalize estimates within specified deadlines and participate in team reviews with management on bid day.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids for completeness, schedule adherence, compliance with specifications, and other bid requirements.
• Prepare value engineering analysis to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Create scope of work narratives.
• Assist field operations with estimates after bid award.
• Meet proposal due date schedules.
• Proactively anticipate requirements to produce estimates with minimal information.

Requirements Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, specifically in industrial, HVAC, and/or plumbing estimating.
• Experienced in process piping estimation.
• Thorough knowledge of estimating for both Design-Build and plan spec projects.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets and computerized on-screen takeoff programs.
• Ability to produce accurate, timely, and competitive estimates with limited data.
• Anticipate requirements and cost components of Design-Build projects.
• Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners.
• Familiarity with HVAC, industrial, and plumbing piping systems.
• Prior experience with design build and plan spec projects.
• Preferred 10+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, particularly in heavy industrial, HVAC, and/or plumbing estimating.
• Experienced process piping estimator.
